Petition for Religious Liberty

"God grant that religious liberty may be preserved in these states to the end of time, and that all who believe in the religion of Christ may practice the leading principle of charity, the basis of every other virtue."

– Charles Carroll, the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence

Now more than ever, it is important that lawmakers hear our collective Catholic voice and make it known that we will not tolerate an assault on our religious freedom—it is our right, and our belief that religious values and morals should be upheld and not be intruded upon by policy.

Catholic parishes across the United States will engage in two weeks of prayer, outreach, education, and action to protect and promote religious freedom and liberty as part of the USCCB’s Fortnight for Freedom 2013. The fortnight begins on June 21 and culminates on July 4, Independence Day.

As a part of statewide efforts for the fortnight, the TCC has opened an online petition that will be shared with both state and federal officials and the White House.

The TCC encourages all advocates to sign the petition below and let your voice be heard, standing up for religious liberty and promoting Catholic teachings. Signatures (names only) will be shared on the TCC website and updated daily.
