Welcome to the Texas Catholic Conference, the Official Public Policy Voice of the Catholic Bishops of Texas.

OUR MISSION

The primary purpose of the Conference is to encourage and foster cooperation and communication among the dioceses and the ministries of the Catholic Church of Texas.

A major function of the Conference is to be the public policy arm of the Conference's Board of Directors, the bishops of Texas, before the Texas legislature, the Texas delegation in Congress, and state agencies. The public policy issues addressed by the Conference include institutional concerns of the Catholic Church as well as issues related to Catholic social teachings.

What happens when I join?

Depending upon your area of interest you will receive news and action alerts informing you of specific legislation that is pending before state and national lawmakers. You will be given the opportunity to contact your state or national senator or representative to express your support or opposition to the legislation. You can contact your legislator by mail, phone, fax, or email. The Texas Legislature web site can help you find out who are your state representatives. Just click here and fill in your address. To find out who your US House representative is click here. Your US Senators are Senator Hutchison and Senator Cornyn.

The TCC understands the demands that are placed upon individuals and families in today's fast paced society. That is why we work so hard to make it easier for you to get involved in state government. We will keep you informed of important issues through the Texas Catholic Voice, Action Alerts, Capitol Comments and our website. By taking as little as five minutes to make a phone call or send an email, you can make a difference by having your voice heard.
