TCC Executive Director testifies on Border Violence

On September 18, 2008, TCC Executive Director Andrew Rivas testified to the State Senate Committee on International Relations & Trade on the topic of Border Violence.

"As a Church that proclaims all human life is sacred and that the dignity of the human person is the foundation of a moral vision for society, the Bishops understand that crime undermines the common good and criminal behavior threatens the lives and dignity of others. Our Mission The primary purpose of the Conference is to encourage and foster cooperation and communication among the dioceses and the ministries of the Catholic Church of Texas. A major function of the Conference is to be the public policy arm of the Conference's Board of Directors, the bishops of Texas, before the Texas legislature, the Texas delegation in Congress, and state agencies.
