CHIP is not dead!
March 20, 2007

Monday when the Texas House of Representatives heard CS109, there was a point of order on the language that changes from gross income to net income. The bill analysis was missing the word "family." Some perceived this as killing the bill and ending hope for these vital CHIP restorations. However, the House Human Services Committee met Monday evening to correct the language and pass the bill back to the House. It will come up for vote again soon, possibly as early as Wednesday...stay tuned for the new date of the floor vote.
