Texas Catholic Conference

In preparation for the Catholic Faith in Action: Promoting Life, Justice, and Peace Advocacy Day on April 6, 2011, we have created a video that provides you with more information on the day and how you can be involved. It also includes a special invitation from Most Rev. Daniel Flores, Bishop of Brownsville, to participate in the day. Please feel free to forward this video on to any Catholics you know who may be interested in participating - there are many ways to participate, including attending the day, making phone calls and emails, and of course, praying for the success of the day

Texas' 82nd Legislature convened on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, provided the opening prayer in the House and the closing prayer in the Senate. You may read the House prayer here. You can watch also watch videos of both prayers here.

Our Mission The primary purpose of the Conference is to encourage and foster cooperation and communication among the dioceses and the ministries of the Catholic Church of Texas. A major function of the Conference is to be the public policy arm of the Conference's Board of Directors, the bishops of Texas, before the Texas legislature, the Texas delegation in Congress, and state agencies. The public policy issues addressed by the Conference include institutional concerns of the Catholic Church as well as issues related to Catholic moral and social teachings. Learn more about us.
